Not Anti-Gun Anti Self-Defense!

So get a load of this crap!

The parents of a California man who allegedly tried to rob a Starbucks in Fresno, but was thwarted by a Good Samaritan, claim their son was the victim of “excessive force.” They believe the man who police describe as a hero should face criminal charges and warn their son may file a lawsuit.

You’ll be pleased to know they have video!!

Pretty obvious that the gun is fake, the robber isn’t even treating it like a loaded gun. I will note that the law does NOT expect you to know weather a realistic gun is real or not, and it is certainly reasonable for all the people there to assume it WAS real.

That being said the knife is VERY real, as after he got brained with a chair the defender took it away from him and stabbed him a few times.

Now this is a GREAT reason why EVERYBODY should be part of the Armed Citizen Legal Defense Network. One thing I love about being a member is it NOT contingent on firearms use. If you defend your life, be it with a pistol, a rifle, a chair, a knife or your bare hands, ACLDN will be there for you as a member.

Hopefully this case is just nutty enough that the Attorney General of California leaves it alone….that being said it’s California AND the only thing that needs to be done in that state for the family to file a civil suit is to hire a lawyer, and after this article their phone might be ringing.

One last thing that came to my mind watching the video. Since this is California, of COURSE the criminal was the only person armed…the fake gun and the knife he was using are probably both illegal under Cali law. But if the good Samaritan DID have a gun, I really do think things would have ended better.

So I will say that the defender could have shot Optimus Prime in the back, given that he was directly and imminently threatening the life of the cashier. That being said, I don’t think that would have been how this played out. I really think all it would take for this to have ended would be for the customer to draw his gun and order the robber to drop his weapons.

Remember most defensive gun uses end without a shot being fired. So what ended in a struggle and a stabbing could have ended peacefully. That’s something the antis never tell you!

Michael Bloomberg is dumping huge amounts of money in a vain attempt to turn free America into New York City.

One of the nation’s leading gun-control advocacy groups announced plans on Friday to spend upwards of $1 million in the upcoming Virginia gubernatorial and attorney general races even though a similar spending effort failed to flip control of the state senate in 2015.

Of Course Daddy Bloomberg is worth 53 BILLION Bucks so him dropping a million back into an election cycle he likely won’t win is like me spending $2 on 40oz of malt liquor.

The Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, a New York-based gun-control group founded in large part by Michael Bloomberg, is donating $450,000 to Democrat Ralph Northam in his race against Republican Ed Gillespie. They’re spending another $250,000 on mailers supporting Northam. The gun-control group is putting another $300,000 into Democrat Attorney General Mark Herring’s reelection bid.

According to sources (and the fact that Bloomberg is backing him) Northam is a type-A Anti-gun Nut. Of course we all still remember Herring’s petulant little jab at concealed carry holders in the entire nation. He couldn’t get the horrible New York style laws he wanted in Virginia, so he had to do what he could.

Any surprise why he’s sitting on $300,000 still wet from Bloomberg’s hands?

The bottom line is Michael Bloomberg is going to die a billionaire, no matter how poorly he spends his money, he has so much of it, that spending MILLIONS in an election cycle won’t even make a dent. Still he’s a megalomaniac, he tried to shape all of America in his vision of New York city, and failing that he’s been attempting to influence the states one at a time to achieve the same goal.

We can’t bankrupt him, but we can make him lose interest. The last two election cycles he’s put out an exploratory committee to see if the American people like him. They don’t, so much that he’s removed his name from all the political groups he runs. Mayors Against Illegal guns became “Everytown for Gun Safety” and “Moms Demand Action”, with only a vague association with Bloomberg for the former, and Shannon Watts up front on the latter….but it’s all Daddy Bloomberg.

He knows he’s hated by Americans, so he’s withdrawn to where people aren’t pushed to give an opinion of him. We also hate gun control, and if we keep beating him his ego might get bruised enough that he’ll move onto somebody else…..or if we’re lucky just enjoy his retirement in one of his many luxury homes.

Blue Napalm Clean!

So as a stay-at-home Dad, I do a lot of cleaning.

My wife found this concoction online, then lost it, then found it again ect. So I’ll put it up here where I can find it again, and maybe you all will enjoy it.

I don’t know the official name for this stuff, but I call it “Blue Napalm”. It is ideal for cleaning tubs and sinks, and might work on toilets.

1/2 Cup Original Dawn dish soap (the blue stuff)
1/2 Cup white vinegar
1/4 cup baking soda

Mix the soap and vinegar into a large container, then slowly add the baking soda so as not to create a foaming mess.
Next wet down the item you want to clean, and smear the foamy gel all over it.
Let it sit for at least 10 mins so it can penetrate into the grime.
Scrub with a mildly abrasive sponge (I like the green plastic ones) until things look pretty clean.
rinse THOROUGHLY! This is the hardest part as this stuff just wants to hang on and foam up. I like to rinse it until all the blue is gone, and the tub is filled with suds, then walk away for a while and let the bubbles pop, then rinse again. It should be gone after 3 tries.

Enjoy your good-as-new tub!

Child labor highly recommended.

EP161 GunBlog VarietyCast Radio – We Are But Mad North-North-West

Erin’s neighborhood was supposed to get its power restored this weekend. Now it’s been pushed back until Tuesday next week.
Beth says it’s always the right time to talk to children about firearms, and the new book “Safety On” by Yehuda Remer can help you with that.
A second suspect has been identified in a NW Charlotte homicide, and good news! He’s not quite as awful as the suspect they have already charged!
Barron is on assignment and will return soon.
To be, or not to be: that is the question. Or perhaps the question is “to stay, or not to stay.” And when the hurricane blows southerly, Miguel knows a hawk from a handsaw.
Our Main Topic is the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll showing that more Americans than ever have a gun in their homes.
Tiffany covers a few of the Every Day Carry travel considerations that aren’t usually discussed in the average concealed carry permit class.
Erin left the hurricane behind. But she has preps in place, so why evacuate? She shares her thoughts on avoiding troubles as a valid prepping strategy.
The Joyce Foundation Shell Group, States United, has cooked up a “Video Game” to oppose concealed carry Reciprocity, and gets the reaction from alleged Real People™. Weer’d has the audio.

So you probably have heard already, Dan Gross of the Brady Campaign has been replaced.

No word on what the terms of Gross’ termination are, but I suspect it wasn’t amiable.

Before Gross, Brady was lead by Paul Helmke. See Brady had been kicking our asses leading up to the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban, and they wanted to create a narrative that gun control is a Bi-Partisan issue. So they hired Helmke, the soft-headed former mayor of Ft. Wayne Indiana, and a rather definitive RINO.

Fast Forward to 2010, and the Federal AWB is out, Most states have passed some form of Concealed carry, and every prediction of “Blood in the Streets” turned out to be, instead, a falling crime rate. Also the handful of anti-gun Republicans either defected from the cause, or hushed up.

Since all the anti-gun groups operate off of a small number of high-dollar donors (Vs.Groups like the NRA and Second Amendment Foundation who survive off of lots of small donations), and it’s safe to assume ALL of those high-dollar donors were “Progressive” Democrats, Paul Helmke’s Republican affiliation had become a liability.

In 2012 they fired Paul, and took on Dan Gross, a “Progressive” New York ad Exec. Paul was so committed to the anti-gun agenda he has never made another public anti-gun statement ever since he stopped getting paid to do so….that’s how deep those waters run.

Now Dan Gross’ GENDER is the liability, and the Brady Campaign is now being helmed by two female “Progressive” Beltway Lawyers.

Of course the spiraling decent of the Brady Campaign led Collin Goddard to jump ship, and join forces with Daddy Bloomberg. This whole shakeup got me thinking about if Collin’s Dad, Andrew Goddard was still a Million Mom March chair.

Well I can’t find ANYTHING on Andrew, but Collin has a public Linkedin profile.

Looks like he isn’t with Bloomberg either…I wonder what happened. haven’t heard anything from him since he left.

Weer’d Does Indian

So you might have heard on the last Squirrel Report I tried my hand at Indian food.

I was looking for a cheater way to make Indian food, as several friends of mine who are from India always talk about how time consuming the food is.

But I found this video, and really it didn’t seem too bad.

Pretty easy. Not fast, but besides needing to marinate the chicken beforehand (LaWeer’da and I just went back into the kitchen after we had finished our dinner and mixed up the meat) it’s VERY straight forward, and even with this being my 1st time making the recipe, making this, rice and bread, AND having a VERY helpful 4-year old working with me (There will come a time when her helping me in the kitchen will subtract from prep time…currently it adds) it only took a bit more than an hour to make from when I first started chopping onions and measuring spices.

Also a note on the spices, if you have an Indian market anywhere near you you’ll find the spices there to be better and MUCH cheaper than at your local grocery store.

Also this turned out to be perfectly hot for me, but WAYYY to hot for LaWeer’da and Mommy, so I might even complacently omit the cayenne pepper from this, and shake a little on at the table if I want some heat.

And you read right, I said Bread.

I am NOT a baker….but we made 4 pieces, 2 from me, and 2 from LaWeer’da, and hers came out better. So the only note I can give is don’t be afraid to flour the dough so it isn’t a sticky mess!

Enjoy!
