BROKEN

Arrrggghhh. It always happens at 4:30 on a Friday, when it's going to be 90 degrees the next day. My coworker calls me on the radio, "Did you do something with the water?" "Uh, no.. why?" "It's stopped." "Greeaaaaat." Go down to pump house, look at pump... 3 psi pressure. No happy hum... Call boss, boss trips breaker in shop. Vaguely electro-mechanical hum......... and off. repeat. repeat. Yup. Broken. oh poo.

- Inventory of Stuff We Have to Replace a Broken Pump: um... another broken pump. Boss never brought it to the repair shop the last time this happened.
- Places to buy a new pump that are open at 4:30 on a Friday: Zero.
- People who could potentially repair said pump at 4:30 on a Friday: On vacation. =Zero.

oh poo.

At least we have the well. Time to water a few thousand trees and shrubs by hand in the morning...
