The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly...

The good: Tomorrow is my Friday!
I get Thursday and Friday off this week, before training day for new peoples at work on Saturday. Friday, I am meeting
anna_mickel and Max for lunch in Exeter, and then we are going to browse The Colophon Book Shop, a used bookshop with LOTS of stuff on illumination. Joy! Also, gold leaf is coming... the newest batch of permacol is not very good, so we've ordered a jar of quick-dry size to see if that's any better... Shiny shiny shiny gold...
The Bad: Random Fishdeath.
Got home from work yesterday to find all three of my minnows floating in the tank, white and fuzzy. GAH! What the heck? They were fine when I left in the morning! And Eros was not looking well, setting on the bottom of his tank in the still spot, not moving much. Not good. A water change last night helped; he's back to his usual swimmy self now. Had to have been something in the water, I think, though I didn't treat it any differently than I usually do when I changed it. Frustrating. I miss my puppy-fish. They knew what the lid opening meant (food!), and would fall all over themselves trying to get to the little pink flakes... Maybe I'll get some Neon Tetras, or something... or more minnows. I'm going to give the upstairs tank a bit to work whatever it was that was causing the problem out. A few water changes will help. The catfish, thankfully, appear to be fine.
The Ugly: I watch the Watchmen
Saw Watchmen last night, at Smitty's. Was... different. Violent. I missed a few parts, because I just can't watch people getting their arms sawn off, among other things... Definitely had its moments, but I think it's just far enough out of my reality that I couldn't really get into it. Very, very different than all the other superhero-type movies out there. I think I do want to read the graphic novel, though. I can deal with red ink on a page for blood.
On a sunny morning last week, the light just happened to catch this leaf of my (what I believe to be a) Crassula rodgersii. Awwww... my plant loves me.
EDIT: One final Watchmen thought... Rorschach's Journal, October 12, 1985. I'm Batman. hee hee hee hee hee...
