i is teh sick...
Nov. 15th, 2007 06:17 pmI hate having colds... I have gone through no less than two boxes of kleenex in the last three days, and really probably should have stayed home from work today, but the lure of actual overtime pay was too great... Wasn't working in close contact with other human beings either, so no real chance of infecting the entire office. That, and if I'm distracted, it seems not to be as awful... better than if I were sitting home doing nothing, anyway. If I still feel icky, and it's as cold and rainy/snowy/crappy as it's supposed to be tomorrow morning, though, home I stay. I'm perfectly capable of sleeping till noon. Means I lose any hope of overtime, but it may just be worth it... ugh.
Yesterday was a worthwhile day, though. Finished the fall cleanup of the day much quicker than anticipated, which was nice... It was a beautiful property on some little lake, we saw a Bald Eagle soaring overhead during lunch, and an Ermine/Weasel in the afternoon. Never seen one that wasn't part of a coat... :) Was CUTE! I thought it was a white squirrel at first, then saw the little black tip of the tail. It frisked around a bit, running back and forth across the driveway, then scampered up on a stump, saw me, froze, and we contemplated each other for several seconds till it fled into the woods. Very much the same size as a ferret, but longer tail. This one was about 3/4 changed from summer to winter coat; not quite pure white yet. cuuuuuuute. (not my photo, didn't have the camera out, but that's just what he/she/it looked like! :) )
