Or it will be on Saturday, anyway. Technically, it's still fall... so the first person to mention "global warming" is going to get an ice pick shoved up their nose. ^_^

The snow is falling, again. At least it's pretty; getting an inch or two every three to four days keeps most everything nice and clean and white. We have nearly two feet on the ground, thanks to the 8" of reasonably fluffy, but coated with ice that fell on Sunday. 6-10" more predicted for tonight into tomorrow. I have the day off, was planning on going to meet a friend at the airport when he arrives from Canada (assuming the flights aren't delayed or canceled). We shall see. At least I don't have to shovel out work tomorrow. Maybe on Friday, if the snow keeps falling through the day, but I don't think it will take 4 1/2 hours. Went in on Monday (my scheduled day off) to help poor Amy dig out... I couldn't just leave her there, all alone, shoveling, on her birthday. Not a very good present. So she was grateful for the help and the company. :) My boss, of course, showed up mid-morning after getting about an hour of sleep and asked "why aren't you using the snowblower?" I blinked at him a few times, and explained that the clearing would get done much quicker this way, and with less swearing... I do know how to use them, but snowblowers tend to push ME, rather than the other way around... (This is a good winter fitness program, though... if I have to dig out the shop every week, I won't be nearly as lethargic the rest of the time I have to stare at a computer screen.)

I think two or three years ago is the last time we've had any sort of significant snow on the ground before Christmas that actually stayed around. If this keeps up, though, it's going to be a veeeery long winter. Which I thought back in October, when it got cold, quick. Hopefully I didn't curse us all. ;)
