Garden Report
Jul. 4th, 2008 11:27 amHow does my garden grow? Quite well, in fact (except, of course, for the peas. grump). The 'Persian Market' Daylily at the front corner is especially happy this year, and has sent up 15 flower scapes, each with at least 4 buds. I am going to have a LOT of blossoms this year. :) Nasturtiums are happy, time to start picking them so we have some pretty pretty flowers on the tables at GNEW. Remembering last year, though, things are definitely behind. No black-eyed susans blooming yet, and the 'Drumstick' Allium at work is just barely starting to show color. There's still a week...
So... July 4, time to get the cucumbers trellised, maybe? Maybe next week... or two weekends from now... depends on how desperate they're (or I'm) getting. There are flowers on the squash, which is taking off across the bare patch between the beans and lettuce, my one row of carrots is growing nicely, and the strawberries are exploding with fruit, don't know if any of it will ripen this year, though...
As promised, here are photos from our trip to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Such a beautiful place!
I am now going to sequester myself in my sewing room for the rest of the day and try to get some garb done... I can make a shirt and a gown in 2 days, right? Right? :)
