The Bird has been Slain.
Nov. 27th, 2008 11:26 amCooked the turkey last night, the bits are now in the fridge, ready to go traveling in an hour or so, and then be consumed in a flurry of NOM NOM NOM.
Easiest time I've ever had taking apart a turkey. Meat was stripped from bone in less than half an hour. This thing fell apart. I almost didn't need a knife.
It is, like other things cooked/baked yesterday, made of YUM. The brine solution added a nice herby flavor, the skin browned and crisped wonderfully (and I ate a lot of it... probably more than I should have... but was so tasty...), and I managed to get the wishbone out in one piece (now if I can just find it... hrm. I know I saved it, but it seems to have disappeared...).
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. May you all eat too much and spend time with the people you love (or at least someone you like!! ;) ).
( And don't forget... )
