This is a Random Entry. Dentist and Demo.
Oct. 23rd, 2009 11:27 amThe thing about going to the dentist is that afterward, I don't want to eat anything... My teeth are cleaner than they'll be for the next 6 months, and I hate to mess them up. No cavities, though! Yay! I shall sacrifice clean teeth for butternut squash soup and tasty bread while catching up on this week's episode of Castle. Took the rest of the day off. I've got the comp time to use, and M could use the hours, so it works out.
Demo at the Durham School was last night. A wonderful time as always. Took some video, don't know how it came out yet. It's hard to be in 2 places at once, and I just can't fence and sing and play and dance and take photos all at the same time. Le sigh.
I've got a fan club, though. Hee! Was headed to the restroom to change after the demo was over, and bumped into 2 students in the hallway. One girl was wearing a medieval-oid gown that she'd made herself, very pretty. We said hello, and she asked, somewhat breathlessly, "what's your name??". I told her, she grinned, started to say something, when her friend butted in and said "you're like, her new idol now..." in the way that 7th grade girls do, when they cannot understand why their friends are being so silly about some things. ;) I laughed, said the encouraging and positive things I was supposed to say, hoped they had a good time. Girl #1 nodded, smiling the whole time, and her friend again, said "OK, she's gonna, like, go faint now, or something," and they ran off. It was cute... Maybe we've got a new recruit. hee...
Dinner was at Gritty McDuff's. Delicious.
glassbeetle and I went to LL Bean afterward, ran around, found some good winter boots for her, and made it home by midnight-thirty. Was a good day.
More fencing tomorrow, if it's not pouring. Yay!
