Work is done for this week. We are all cranky. The boss is cranky, which makes the rest of us cranky, because nothing is done right. Ever. And the loader hates me. And I hate it. And poor Dave backed one of the new trucks right into it (and me, as I was in it) this afternoon. The tree I was bringing up the hill decided to slide through the forks, necessitating a quick stop. Dave was backing the truck up, didn't expect me to be stopped, and BOOM. Hardly any damage to everything involved; can't even see where it hit on the loader, bent one of the lock tabs on the tailgate, which was set right in about 30 seconds, but Joe took that moment to drive back in the driveway, after being away for most of the day. Curse, swear, cranky. This, combined with the fact that when we got our list of "priorities" this morning, the zillion little things that needed to be done to get the trucks ready for the OMG SNOWZ that is coming on Sunday (though I hope not...) was ever so helpfully neglected to be mentioned. ARGH.

Can't find a pattern piece or fabric bit (that I know I have) for a small project I'd like to get done by tomorrow, but I think it will be easy enough to make another one... Sewing room is a minor disaster, but is usable.

Unhappy news abounds, even in our fortune cookies. kurlon's car is costing more money every month, and will probably be gone soon. Sad news from his parents, too, that "our" (his for a long time, but she adopted me too once she realized I wasn't going anywhere) kitty Amiee has left us. A proper memorial will be done once I pull my thoughts together.

So looking forward to this weekend. Going to try to make another batch of bacon baklava tonight, but will have to run to the store soon... Should have gone just after work, but I was tired, covered in mud and sticks, and forgot that it was Friday. Sigh.

Not... one of the more accurate memes, perhaps, though it has its moments. I don't know if I'd make a very good creature of the night...

On a more serious note, I wasn't going to mention Amiee, as I think besides Felis, JuJu would be the only other person in my circle that really knew her. As Felis said, she was my cat, or more specifically, I was hers. She knew the sound of my car and would leave my, er her room to meet me at the door, I was one of the few she'd deem worth of lap time, for quite awhile. She did mellow with age into a truly sweet lady though, as Felis can attest to. A good companion, she spent lots of time perched across my shoulders as I banged away on the computer at video games, and made sure I never had a good night's sleep without playing for a solid hour or so each night. Very different from Bill, who was your classic shoulder and lap friend, I miss them both. One of the hardest things I've had to do adapting to living on my own is dealing with not having a cat, I used to have to leave a rolled up towel on the end of the bed in college to get to sleep reliably. There were cats at Bracket St, but I never really bonded with them, and our current apartment doesn't allow pets so I'm still missing my small furry companion.

Ugh what a day! It was kind of that sort of crazy crap at work on this side of things too.
