Triumphs

A perfect day for a ride, and it was wonderful. No problems, save for a bit of construction on the way up, and a jerk in a Honda on the way back (we were at a stop sign... he felt we were taking too long to get moving again, and honked. First instinct I had was to turn around and flip him off, so I did. agh. *blushblushblush* probably not the smartest thing I could have done, and never done that before in my life, but it seemed appropriate...). Missed the rain that seemed to be falling one mountain over, too, which was nice.

Found the Ducati group from down the road and said hi, wandered around a bit, talked with the guy who had Ural sidecars, wandered to the KTM area whereupon J signed up for a test ride. Then found lunch, ran into a guy we'd taken a ride with a few years ago and hadn't seen since, but we remembered each other. :) I hung out with Gerry and the MM crew while J was on his test ride, then we two went out for a spin in the sidecar. Quite fun. Different. [livejournal.com profile] frothgar and [livejournal.com profile] evensongs_fall, you should have one. :) It would totally rock. Goggles and a cute scarf are a must for the sidecar rider, however.

Also, found my new helmet! :D It's got BUTTERFLIES on it! Not sure what color I want... thought the blue, but kinda like the beige... not the pink. Eee! Have to order it sometime next week.

I am going to sleep well tonight... glad no work tomorrow, except maybe watering plants for a little while.

I'd love one. It's a long ways down the road though. Unless you see one being donated to a good home.

Heh... nothing to donate, I'm afraid... but down the road would be OK. There's plenty of time. :D

Opinion on color? Blue or Beige? I don't have a bike to match it to, so that's not a concern... Is difficult choice!

I'd say the blue, but that might be the 'warmer' helmet during the summer. I think the beige would reflect more heat away (or I could just be full of it, your choice :) )

From a boring safety standpoint, go with the lighter color. Lighter colored helmets are *much* more visible to car drivers. I keep meaning to put reflective stuff on mine to help with that.

The blue is pretty awesome looking though. :)

You should totally come up on Aug. 15/16 and take the course with me. :D Though I don't know if it crosses state lines... you'd probably have to do it in MA... but then we will both have our vroom, and can vroom together, sometime!
