Ducati go VROOM!
Aug. 28th, 2010 06:00 pm68 miles riding today with
alexsaintpierre. VROOM. Mr. Ducati and I appear to get along juuuuuust fine. Now He needs a name... something Italian, I think. :)
Got to the shop around 9:30, the guys were doing final prep work on the Monster. My Monster. Eeee! Jamie even took off the awful decals (that did say 'Monster', but in the wrong green, and in the energy drink font. This will be fixed soonish.) that were on the tank, buffed and cleaned the little oil spots off the white decals, and then it was ready. Mine. Nervous. Didn't want to just dump it in the parking lot in front of all the guys (or at all). Didn't. Made it successfully to the gas station (adrenaline-fueled shaky hands and all), and from there out on the road!
Met E for lunch at the Olive Garden, had a nice time (though was peppered with some real crappy news here and there...), then convinced her it was too nice a day to spend in the mall, and we were going to Fort Williams! And we did. Was lovely.
Tired now, though. Going to have a nice quiet night in, then perhaps some more VROOM tomorrow. :) Am getting the hang of the clutch, the shift points, even getting up some more speed in turns. It's nice to ride with somebody more experienced, and I know I need to trust myself and the bike. Getting there. Now just need to find a spot in the garage... hrm...
Suzi,
kurlon discovered this morning, however, is a bit more broken than first appeared. Can't remember what exactly he said, but I think he has the parts to fix her... Hope so.
