About to walk out the door a few minutes ago, when my co-worker calls. Banks are closed today. It's Veteran's Day. No mortgage discussion for us today. We will try again some other time.

I don't know your work schedule, but can you find a bank that offers mortgage consultation during evening hours? Many have extended hours and CAN provide that type of basic consultation sit down after 5, especially on Fridays! Don't forget Saturdays too.
