Oh yes, that's right, the sun. There's even a little, tiny bit of blue sky out there...

Granted, the week up here hasn't been NEARLY what my southern friends are experiencing (and I hope things dry out, or at least stop getting wetter, soon...), but three days of gray rainy blah is starting to wear. Very few customers at work (who the heck wants to garden in this weather?), and a grumpy boss... Bleh.

Sunday was beautiful! Saw a blowout (7-0, loss) of a SeaDogs game, but [livejournal.com profile] kurlon and I got to ride there and back without getting wet (though his BRAND NEW BIKE has developed an oil leak... hopefully getting taken care of today/tomorrow so he can ride it on Monday at the track day), and spend some time with mom & dad, which was nice. Pictures soon, once I have some time to breathe.

Monday at work was nice for most of the day, no boss to bother us, and a bit warm, and I was so. un. motivated. Thank goodness we were closing at 3, because that's when the pouring rain arrived. Still had to close up and get soaked, even with an umbrella, but got to go home and paint a while.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and so far today (save a few peeks through the clouds) have been cold, gray, and nearly constantly at least drizzly, if not rainy. Bleh. I had to turn the heat on in the car on my way home last night. I woke up Tuesday, so happy it was Thursday... oh, wait... darnit. Good, and bad. Good because that meant I still had 3 days to get the scroll done, bad because... Tuesday? That's it? Ugh.

But, Ding! Scroll is done! To have a few final tweaks done tonight, perhaps, and then be picked up by the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] janeelliot tomorrow afternoon, on her way to the event that I am not going to. Pictures post-event, after the award has been awarded.

Because this Saturday is the Fort Knox Demo! Yay! Will be heading north straight from work tomorrow, to spend the night in the shadow of the fort with Max & [livejournal.com profile] anna_mickel, to fence all day Saturday, and to return home Saturday night tiiiiired.

Track Day Monday. Sunday, tape up the bike, take the mirrors off, disconnect all the lights... Giovanni won't know what to do. We'll see if I can't figure out how to ride with [livejournal.com profile] mylisant, [livejournal.com profile] kr4sh, and [livejournal.com profile] kurlon. It will be a Grand Adventure.

Eyup...

Still here. Everybody else still here? Good.

Also, I appear to be getting a Spring Cold. This is not a fun thing. Hoping we'll see the sun sometime soon, since I also think part of the cold could indeed be moss growing on my brain...

I found 6th gear on the way home tonight. :) Comfortable for cruising at 55 mph. Was slightly off-balance during the ride, for some reason. I suspect I was tired. I know I was tired, but I suspect that was the reason. Not overly-so, but I had a bit more wobble at a couple stop signs and lights than I'd have liked.

Last bike ride this week too, I suspect. After 4 days of beautiful, perfect weather, spring rains move back in for the next several days. Bah. Hope this doesn't become a trend. After doing some calculations, I think Giovanni is nearly going to pay for himself, at least through the summer, with the money I'll be saving on gas. If I'm lucky, I'll be saving $15-$30 per week on gas, at least. That could be $120 a month. Which is allllmost the payment. Almost. It's certainly helping.

Still stressed. It's spring. Work is zooey. We've been busier lately, helped along by the weather, which is good, but means I'm going in 8000 different directions and can't get anything done. My co-workers are doing the majority of hauling the shrubs around (which I am grateful for, because I've realized I kinda hate that part of my job... heh, I get to actually be management and point and direct...), and the tree field (which I do hate, always have. There has got to be a better way to organize and keep the trees upright besides bricks... but the boss will have none of anybody's suggestions. frustrating.) has stabilized some, so even in big winds, most everything is staying standing upright. Finally. Won't last long. We've got evergreen trees coming in this week, and two trucks worth of shrubs, and maybe some perennials. If I'm very, very lucky, they'll all come in the mornings, and be done or mostly done by the time I get in for my shift... we'll see.

Last Saturday, I visited (was a wench at) a wonderful Tavern that only exists twice a year. It is a truly magical place, full of friends, good song, good drink, fantastic food. A truly enjoyable evening at the Tyger and Bucket. I love this bar! (but dear merciful heavens, pay heed to the song. do NOT drink the blue stuff... ever. Ever. guh.) There will be photos soon from the high-heel tourney...
